The Academy behind the Agency.

Acuity Academy is the training arm of AcuityCare Agency, the Arkansas CES Waiver provider serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We exist because the people doing the caring deserve a career, not a job that wears them out.

Our mission

Healthcare designed around the workforce who delivers it.

CHART was built inside AcuityCare for our own DSPs — frustrated by training that was either generic e-learning or paper packets read aloud in a conference room. We wanted the rigor of a clinical program with the warmth of a community workforce.

Today the CHART curriculum is published, instructor-led, and built around three non-negotiables: regulatory compliance with CES §303, clinical accuracy verified by a licensed RN, and field-tested practice with the people we support.

  • 39 modules. Every one with documented objectives and an 80% mastery floor.
  • Three instructors. LMSW, QDDP, and RN — each within their licensed scope.
  • Two stacked credentials. AR-CDSP through AR-CNHS (CNA + HSS).

The instructor team

Three credentials. One coordinated team. Each within their scope.

The CHART delivery model is built around what each license actually permits. The LMSW supervises everything. The QDDP teaches person-centered and behavioral content under LMSW oversight. The RN is the sole instructor of record for all clinical and CPR modules.

What we believe

Four principles that show up in every module.

Compliance is the floor.

Every module starts where §303 ends. We build on top of the regulation — not around it, not to satisfy it. If a surveyor walked in tomorrow, the curriculum would defend itself.

Clinical accuracy is non-negotiable.

Every health, medication, and CPR module is written or reviewed by Maya, our RN. If she can't sign her name to it, it doesn't ship.

DSPs are professionals.

The NADSP Code of Ethics is treated as a real ethical framework, not a poster on the breakroom wall. Career path is built in, not bolted on.

IDD is its own discipline.

Generic healthcare training misses what makes IDD support unique. CHART content is grounded in the people we actually support — Down Syndrome, Autism, CP, Epilepsy, Spina Bifida.
